Noonday Gun

The Jardines Noonday Gun is on the first plot of land to sold by public auction in 1841; see Old Hong Kong.
In 1961, following noise complaints, a Hotchkiss Mark 1, 3 lb, quick firing, naval piece fires. Before the gun fires, 8 bells rings, to signal the end of the forenoon watch.

Getting there:
MTR Causeway Bay Exit D3.
Then head for The Excelsior and ask for directions to the under road tunnel - via the car park.
